MISC2031
We have a large quantity of original, galvanized pressed metal panels, by John Lysaght, c. 1895, from a demolished orphanage in Bendigo, Victoria. "Fishscale" pattern. The original Lysaght logo is still stencilled on the backs of the panels. 54 panels in total, 16 @ 860mmx1830mm and 21 @ 760mmx1830mm and the balance made up of smaller and larger sizes. We have paint-stripped 4 panels and the remainder have flaky paint on them. They are in very good condition. The quality is far superior to the reproduction aluminium ones on the market, being solid, with excellent definition and looking original. We will only sell as a job lot, or decent quantity, to not spoil breaking up such a unique set. Price, as a guide: the 16 larger panels are $75 each. That’s approx. 60% of the cost of reproductions. |

A set of 4 very heavy cast iron and steel gates, from the Supreme Court of Victoria (436 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne). The cast iron finials are a perfect match to those on the building. Most likely the original gates at the rear of the building, they have been replaced by modern ones. All 4 gates are in excellent condition, excluding the paintwork.
