Antique Brass Centre Door Pulls
We have available for purchase a very large selection of genuine antique brass centre door pulls, many of which are from the Victorian period. We have been fascinated with these and over a forty year period have sold many and also accumulated a large private collection of these beautifully manufactured items.
Brass front door furniture was generally fitted to the more expensive Victorian houses, although not exclusively, as there are many examples of simple cottages. both weatherboard and brick, with original brass centre door pulls (and door knockers).
The front door of a Period House makes an important statement about the authenticity and quality of the restoration/renovation that has been undertaken. Thus, an original door pull is an essential element whereas, by contrast, an inappropriate, chrome-plated, poorly cast reproduction calls into question the attention to detail throughout the house.
It is important when choosing a door pull to take into account any screen door, and that you measure the distance between the front of the main door and the back of the screen, to ensure the pull will fit. The specifications for all our pulls include the projection, to assist you with your choice.
