An Australian cedar arched window, with original acid-etched glass. Basic, but with original hand-grained finish and which could be easily stripped to reveal the cedar underneath, although we could not bring ourselves to do that, because of its originality. Provenance: Brisbane. 1200mm wide at base, 590mm high at top of arch. Frame 50mm thick. Price AUD: $650.00 in store. |
WIN006
Two Australian cedar sash windows from Parliament House, Melbourne. C.1855. One with a single, vertical glazing bar, the other with four bars set cross-wise. The glass is lightly painted, and the paint can be removed with a scraper, as shown in the image. Both windows are 1220mm wide and 60mm thick. One is 1060mm high, the other 1020mm. WIN007
Two arched, Australian cedar windows from Parliament House, Melbourne. 1855. Identical dimensions, but not a pair, both being of the same side. The frames are 70mm thick. 1600mm high on the side, 1060mm wide at the base. There's a small amount of rot in one window, for which we can supply cedar, to make the repair. Stored at Yarrambat, 35 kms, from Melbourne's CBD. Price AUD: $550.00 for the two, in store. |
WIN010
A complete antique walnut pelmet in five sections which, originally, sat above a huge bay window at South Dean in Toorak, built in 1873 and demolished in 1997. In excellent condition, with original polish, carvings and other decorative elements. Possibly too large to be used as a pelmet again, it could be re-purposed, utilising the lovely timberwork. Stored at Yarrambat. Total length is 6520mm. Main front: 3060mm. Side angles: 1450mm each. Returns: 280mm each. Price AUD: $1,750.00 in store. |
